Too Young To Feel This Old

    View:
Some say youth is wasted on the young. Not me. By middle age I was too tired for 1am feedings, the terrible two's and the truculent teens. I remember one too many days when sibling rivalry shook the house. The only thing that preserved my sanity was thinking that in twenty or thirty years my boys would be having the same problems with their children.

If it weren't for the younger generation think about how many rappers, junk food purveyors and manufacturers of oversized clothes for boys and undersized clothes for girls would go out of business. The younger generation keeps the economy going - or is it their allowance that does it?

Without the younger generation the Guinness Book of World Records would be a much thinner book. Who would stuff themselves into VW's, swallow goldfish and practice the domino theory with thousands of real dominoes? Records are broken by the young, who, coincidentally, also buy the most records.

The YM and YWCA's, as well as the Boy's and Girl's Clubs and the Scouts, are wonderful ways to help turn today's youth into tomorrow's leaders. Colleges help transform the know-it-all stage to know enough to earn a living. Graduate schools help those who want to know more. They also help those who want to stay in the know and not graduate into the real world.

Then there are the children who move back in with their parents because they can't make ends meet. Having seen this happen to friends, maybe parents should help their children meet new ends - like the end of spending more than they earn or the end of working one job when they could work two.

Poor diet, lack of sleep, meager savings - the youth are the only ones who can survive being young. They can burn candles at both ends, but after forty we don't want to hear about candles. We're too busy waxing on about age being just a number. We're also busy complaining about failing memories, but it's the youth who need good memories. If they can't remember their mistakes, how can they learn from them?

No, if it were up to middle-agers to carry on the species, we'd be in trouble. If I knew then what I know now, would I want to try to recapture my youth? No, because what I know now was worth waiting for. I know me.
Too Young To Feel This Old
Irrespective of age, most of us wish to look good and feel young in the most natural way. You may be in your teens, twenties or so, but looking great and vibrant is your wish because when you look good, you feel confident, you gain respects, you gain more friends, associates and you look forward to life. Learn some effective tips here to achieve your ultimate goal in ageless living.

The first step is to practice an easy and joyful lifestyle. Be contented and thankful with who you are and what you have achieved. You should still have your ambition and goals to set the direction for your life, but realistic and achievable goals are important benchmark. The rightful way to look at life is; it is all about you and how you feel about yourself and not about if you are born rich or poor. It's not about a list of relationships you've been in, or your status in the world. It's about you.

The second step is eating right. It is important to understand that the quality of life ahead of you depends on how you care for your body today. A balanced diet consists of mixed of nutrients like minerals, vitamins and proteins from the right sources of foods and eating right is eating your right portion regularly without skipping any of them. The healthiest way to eat is by taking whole food, unprocessed, without added flavor, sugar and preservative. CUT DOWN ON SALT INTAKE as salt can push up your blood pressure and injure arteries. Salt deposits in the body can cause serious side effects; gout, kidney stone or gall bladder stone and even clogged blood veins.

CUT DOWN ON COFFEE AND TEA because they contain caffeine which dehydrate your body. Caffeine drains water from your body system resulting in sagging and wrinkled skin. It also elevates blood pressure and makes your heart work much harder.

REDUCT SUGAR INTAKE because sugar is the root cause of diseases like diabetes and even cancer. Diabetes develops slowly, springs on you suddenly and can result in the loss of limb, potency and even life. Sugar is known to promote growth of cancer cells.

STAY AWAY FROM CIGARETTES as they are not only harmful to your health but affect you complexion greatly. It robs your skin of oxygen and produces free radical which leads to premature aging. The most known side effect of cigarettes is of course cancer.

The third step is regular exercise. Regular exercise tones your body muscles, reduce body fat, fight disease and relieve depression, tension and stress. Do the exercise you like and weave it into your life on a regular basis. Vary the routine so that you don't burn out. Sneak exercise into your day whenever and wherever you can.

The final step is resting well. Sufficient sleep is really vital as it allows your body to repair itself during the rest hours.

It is possible to start doing something now to completely renew yourself. Eat well and exercise regularly and within a few months and you will be able to see some results. Your muscles will be stronger, your joints and mobility improve, and your heart will be stronger, pumping more blood with less strain on your body. You feel more energetic and vibrant. You will burn more calories, and so your body and muscles are firmer. With simple life, and sufficient rest, your body will be renewed, you feel better, happier, healthier and very importantly, younger.
