How To Clean A Water Cooler
Anna Stenning
Throughout the UK water cooler units are installed in offices, hospitals, gyms and schools. Having drinking water readily available has become a necessity and one, which people take for, granted. There are, unfortunately, a high number of people who are grossly dehydrated and do not realise this until it is too late. Often, people forget to drink enough water to keep them going through the day as normal.
Getting yourself into a habit of drinking water more often will help keep you hydrated and help flush out your toxins. Keeping a bottle by you or refilling your bottle from a water cooler will keep you in the habit of drinking water more often. In the UK water cooler and dispensing units are installed in public and private places, such as work offices, shopping precincts, gyms etc. These are a good way of preventing dehydration, tiredness, dull skin, lethargy and headaches.
Many people do suffer from tiredness, constipation and headaches during work hours. This is not always due to stress but could also be due to dehydration. Those who do not know roughly how much water to drink, stick to drinking roughly two litres or eight large glasses per day. You do not necessarily have to drink this all in one go (which would be physically impossible, not to mention uncomfortable) but by sipping it throughout the day.
Drinking cooled water is fine as long as it is not too cold, because the body absorbs the fluid more quickly if it is near room temperature. Although, drinking cold water is not detrimental to your health, it is however better to drink this after a vigorous workout or when you are feeling dehydrated from the heat. This will help to cool your body temperature down and keep you feeling more energetic.
Offices in the UK tend to have a water cooler unit in offices. Studies have shown and proven that this increases concentration and makes staff work more efficiently by being constantly alert. People that drink coffee or tea to stimulate their mind do not realise that they are in fact drinking something that acts as a diuretic; in other words, it is dehydrating you. Many feel that this is enough to keep you hydrated but in fact, you are decreasing your recommended daily water consumption.
For those addicted to caffeine, they will find it much harder to function without their daily fix. However, it is not a good idea to cut back on your fix of caffeinated beverages. Like most addictions this should be a slow process, however, it is a good to begin increasing your water intake. If you happen to work in an office, chances are, particularly in the UK water cooler and dispenser units will have been installed. Get into a habit of drinking as much as you can in a day, and dropping down the amount of coffee or tea, you drink.
Doing this slowly will be more beneficial for you, because then you will avoid adverse affects. Cutting down on caffeine will cause tiredness, lack of concentration and sometimes headaches. If you have been drinking caffeine beverages for a long time, your body will feel the effects and will react to it as way of trying to get you to revert to drinking this. In this instance, you will need to drink more water, or just stick to a couple of cups of coffee or tea per day.
Installing a water cooler or water dispenser will enable you to drink pure safe water all the time. For those looking for a cheaper option, can invest in a water filter. Always keep a small bottle with you so then you are able to get a sip every now and again. We are lucky to be living in the UK whereby water is abundant, especially safe water, therefore take advantage of this, as it will benefit you greatly.
