There are so many places to travel in this wide world and some we never think of. The ones you never think of or maybe even never heard of might be just the ones you are looking for.
Let's see, what do you like? Do you like the ocean? Walking down a moonlit beach or snow skiing in the Alps? Whatever you like, it is there for you.
If you like the ocean there are plenty of those to see. There are quite a few beaches here in the US to explore. There are Daytona, Miami and Jacksonville, Florida. There are the beaches of California and let's not forget Hawaii. Maybe you would prefer South America. If so, there are many beaches there too. Rio de Janeiro has a nice beach but the bathing suits get a little skimpy.
The Bahamas and the Caribbean Islands call to us with their sandy shores and palm trees. They whisper promises of warm breezes and lazy days lying in the sun.
But if you like history you might like to try Pompeii, Italy. Explore this 2000 year old city destroyed and preserved by the great volcanic eruption from Mt. Vesuvius. It is like stepping back in time. Herculaneum, a sometimes forgotten city was also covered with lava during the 79Ad eruption of Vesuvius. And while there you may want to check out Rome with its ancient buildings that combine the ancient with the modern.
Or travel to see Machu Picchu located in the Andes Mountains of Peru. It was build about 1460 AD and is located on top of a mountain. It is truly an amazing sight!
An African Safari might be just the thing to get your blood pumping! There are many tour groups to take you exploring the wild. See wild animals such as lions, elephants and monkeys living in their natural habitat. You can explore from the grassy plains to the hot desert. Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are just a few of the many places to visit.
If snow skiing is something you think you might like, try visiting one of the many resorts in the Americas or Europe, which provide plenty of challenges for skiers and snowboarders alike. The Norwegian, Sondre Norheim is known as the father of modern skiing. His invention of the modern binding allows skiers to turn while skiing downhill. Advances through the years have made downhill skiing safer and more enjoyable for skiers of all skill levels, but if downhill skiing sounds a bit too challenging, there also are many areas where cross-country skiing is available. Resorts and parks around the world offer trails that cross-country skiers of all skill levels may enjoy.
So for whatever you call a vacation, there are plenty of ways and places to satisfy your desires. Many destinations can be within driving distance; others may require air travel, but you're sure to find a vacation at a price that can fit almost any budget.
