The first thing is to be mindful of the words that you use. Every industry is filled with various phrases and words that no one outside that industry is going to know much about. You run a high risk of confusing people or leaving them clueless as to what you are talking about if you are not using language they can understand.

Along the same lines as this is getting too technical with things. This is sometimes related to my previous point, and often the things people get too technical about have to do with various details of their industry no one else is going to know. However, this can also just apply to how you handle the subject matter and the kind of things you talk about in your booklet.

The reason why this is so hard to avoid is because booklet printing is naturally going to be heavily related to a more in depth matter that you will not be able to put in any other format. You need the booklet in order to better explain your point, and you need to get more technical in what you talk about.

This does not mean that you want to write in a cold manner that shows no personality at all. You need to get into what you are doing and add in a flare of who you are into the writing. When a person finishes reading your booklet you want them to know a little more about you and understand where you are coming from.

You cannot do that if all you are talking about is details using language people do not know very well. Consider you audience before you write anything and never forget that this is not for yourself but for other people.

Another issues comes from poorly organizing the point being made. The length of a booklet can make it difficult for people to manage all of the things they want to say. They begin to ramble on, or they do not have a clear central theme to their booklet. This leads to confusing writing that is hard to follow.

Be sure that each point leads directly into the next point, and that you have a clear starting and ending to your booklet. You cannot just sit down and start writing without any kind of outline in mind or else you will end up with something that does not properly express its point.

Booklets can be a difficult thing to tackle given their length and the additional needs you will have with them that you do not deal with as much with other advertising. You have to spend a lot more time considering what language you use, how you phrase things, and how you organize your point. If you understand these things you can be certain to avoid all of these common booklet problems.
