The thing is, these issues can easily be avoided with a little bit more open mindedness and extension of understanding to your partner. Just because he behaves not in the way you prefer, this doesn't mean he loves you less or is trying to hurt you. It simply says he's different in his ways and this not be bad or good, it just is.

With a little effort in understanding and receding ego barriers to allow the unique existence of your partner, then harmonious interaction can happen that may bloom into a lasting relationship that may make the fairy tales envious.

So your surprise won't be imagined when your ex calls after 5 months and at the very least he will want to know how you are and the most, he will be sending feelers about starting over and will tell you things like he misses you and such. This will come as a shock since from the way he acted 5 months ago you're sure he wanted nothing to do with you anymore.

Well this puzzling behavior is due to the fact that men have a tendency to, as mentioned above, ignore issues and avoid confrontation. But these issues don't go away, instead it is just delayed. So that when the issue finally catches up with them, some time has passed and perhaps you're already healed and moved on with somebody new.

If in case you have not yet moved on and still have feelings for him, don't dissolve the months of progress you've had. This is not about pride. Be sure that if you do hook up together again, you are doing it for the right reasons and you truly have already healed enough not to pick a fight every so often for every little thing because there is still a festering wound inside you.

It wouldn't be fair to either of you to get into another relationship still broken. It is not wise to use another as a crutch to make yourself feel better because this is simply symptomatic relief and does not cure the issue from the source. It is therefore just a matter of time before the issue resurfaces old unhealed hurts that may just sabotage your happiness again. To avoid this, make sure not to take unfair advantage of your partner by getting back together with them without healing yourself first. You owe it to yourself.
