I layed on my back tonight.   and traced the outline of your name into the stars,   I thought resembled how you shine.      But I never took into account how long,   that it would probably take me,   To pinpoint all the ways I miss you,   And watch them slip away.      But it's just surreal how I feel you here,   And I know that it's impossible.   Because you couldn't be more far away,   But it's like I hear you breathing.      I almost expect to turn around and find you standing there,   With your arms outstretched in my direction,   And a heart with good intentions.      Fast and ready to make things up and show me that you love me,   And put the past back where it belongs,   Put all those things behind me.      But then it hits me where I am and all the things i'm not,   And all the clouds sent floating down from all my stupid thoughts.   I land back down upon the grass and find myself alone.   Back to where I started now and it chills me to the bone.      The comfort of a night alone is something like a heart attack   Slow and willing to take your life   But fast until you're gone.
