Drank and all were merry   we could’ve gotten married that day there to anybody   there with a serenade   from the street up to an open window   kiss her on the balcony while we were drinking   twenty feet away and in an open window   with people drinking and laughing   they would all look down and say   why don’t you marry that one   and it was the same one that we all searched for   kiss her on the balcony while we were drinking   twenty feet away we had a new friend   a Mexican from somewhere   in the southeast of the united states   he showed some identification that was forged   this night would never end   kiss her on the balcony while we were drinking   twenty feet away   kiss her on the balcony   and we’ll all make friends with the Mexicans   we drank and all were merry   we could’ve gotten married that day   there to anybody   there with a serenade from the street   up to an open window with people drinking   and laughing   we’d all be laughing
