Hotel Savoy Homann Bandung

Hotel Savoy Homann is as conveniently located as can be, right in the middle of Bandung. Literally that is, because the point zero, the absolute center of Bandung, can be found right across the street. Also both the train station and the airport are situated in close proximity, being less than 15 minutes away. Colonial Jalan Braga is around the corner, as is the Asia Afrika building and museum.

Being established in 1875, the Savoy Homann has a history that permeates the whole building. This is also its main feature, other than the art deco exterior and intrinsic style on the interior, facilities are standard yet complete. It houses 147 rooms divided over three wings, the Garden wing, the Asia Afrika wing, which houses the rooms that still have antique features and therefore have an uncanny colonial atmosphere, and the latest addition (although built in 1960).

The rooms are classified as deluxe, super deluxe, executive, junior suite and at the top end comes the Homann suite.

All rooms have a safe deposit box, satellite television, Mini bar, IDD phone, laundry and dry cleaning service and 24 hour room service. The suites offer wireless internet access, whereas other guests can use internet at the lobby or at the business centre.

Since the Savoy Homann mostly caters to business men, there are plenty of facilities that will make business run smooth. There are two big ballrooms for large scale meetings and events and no less than 16 meeting rooms in all shapes and sizes, with different packages available with buffets and room. The business centre is small but provides a computer as well as a printer and copy machine.

It's not all business in the Savoy though, there's also room for leisure. Beginning with the rooftop pool that is not heated will instantly refresh you head to toes. Then there is a fitness centre and a sauna to heat you up again. A small drugstore can be found in the lobby.

The Savoy Homann houses two restaurants, one aptly named ‘ The Restaurant ' offering an a la carte menu, and the Sidewalk café , which offers both a la carte as buffet, at surprisingly low prices. For a nightcap, head to the Batavia bar and lounge , where every night live music is played. For a quick cup of coffee, there's the Garden Atrium Coffee shop, set in a courtyard in the middle of the hotel.
