Pie Crust Graham Cracker

1 1/2 cups graham crackers, crushed



1/4 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions

In a small bowl, combine the crumbs and sugar; add the butter and blend well. Evenly press crust into the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch pie plate.

Using the unbaked crust: Refrigerate crust for 30 minutes before adding the filling.

Using the baked crust: Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees until crust is lightly brown. Cool on wire rack before filling.

This recipe is great for cheesecake, ice cream and pudding pies.

1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs

6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted

Directions

In a bowl, mix the crumbs and melted butter until well blended. Press crust firmly into an 8 or 9-inch pie plate. Chill until firm.

This crust is a little nutty, but in a good way.

1 1/2 cups ground walnuts

3 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons white sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edge of the crust is a nice golden brown. Cool.

Here's a unique pie crust that features butternut squash. Great for hearty meat and vegetable pies. For an extra flavor boost add 5 to 6 mushrooms and an extra 3/4 cups of flour to the mix.

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 egg

1 cup butternut squash, cooked and mashed

Directions

Place the flour, egg and squash into the container of a food processor. Pulse until everything is mixed into a doughy ball. If the dough is too moist, add a little extra flour. Divide the dough into two equal parts.

This crust taste really good with apple and cherry pie filling, or go with a classic coconut custard.

3/4 cup quick cooking oats

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons ice water

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, flour and coconut. Stir in the oil and

water. Press the dough into a 9-inch pie pan.

Bake for 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Here's a fried pie crust that's not greasy at all. Instead, it's sweet and toasty. This is a great pie crust for no-bake pie fillings.

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup flaked coconut

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

In a saucepan, combine butter, coconut, flour and brown sugar. Cook on medium

heat; stirring constantly until mixture turns a rich golden brown color. NOTE: mixture will burn quickly after turning brown, so keep a sharp eye on it.

Pour into pie plate and press out to cover the edges evenly with a fork. Allow

crust to cool before filling.
