DESCRIPTION: On 7/11/08 Joshua Jett pled guilty to numerous cases that occurred between 7/22 and 8/04/07 in the South end of the City. Jett was sentenced to 64.65 months in DOC and ordered to pay $5,500.00 in restitution. Great job by Sgt. Luciano who initiated the chase on the stolen car and to his Officers which led to this conclusion. Also to Crime Scene for their work.

North End Armed Robbery

WHAT: Robbery

DESCRIPTION: 08-18154 Armed Robbery 600 blk 38th St Victim: Jario Garcia The victim was walking home alone when he was approached by 3 B/M's. Two of the suspects were wearing black t-shirts and one was wearing a white t-shirt. The suspect wearing the white t-shirt pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded money. They took the victim's cell phone and an empty wallet. The suspects were last seen fleeing westbound in the alley between 38th and 39th St. All suspects were approximately 16-21 years of age with thin builds. They all had short hair and unknown shorts/shoes.

08-18159 Armed Robbery 600 blk 39th St Victim: Nelson Garcia The victim was walking up to his front door when 3 B/M's approached on foot. Two of the suspects were wearing black t-shirts and one was wearing a white t-shirt. The suspect wearing the white t-shirt pointed a black handgun at the victim and demanded money. The victim pushed the armed suspect away at which time the other 2 suspects punched the victim in the face. The armed suspect fled westbound on 39th St while the other 2 suspects fled eastbound on 39th St This victim provided a similar suspect description as the prior robbery, but added the armed suspect had dreads pulled up above his head. He also advised all three suspects were wearing dark jean shorts. The victim advised the weapon may have been pellet gun.

For the Residents of WPB this should be a wakeup call. People should be taking any steps necessary to protect your property including changing your lock sets with lock sets that will better protect against forceful entry.
