Most of us are looking for someone we can spend the rest of our life with. When we find that special person, life is brighter and we feel like anything is possible. This makes it that much harder when a breakup happens.
Chances are, you're wondering what you can do to get your ex back. These 5 simple steps will put you on the road to recovery... and hopefully a happy reunion!
1. Relax. Find a way to stop dwelling on what's happened. If you spend your days moping around, you'll be less attractive to your ex or anyone else! Instead of wasting time worrying about what is going to happen, go out with friends and have some fun. Being uptight and upset isn't going to win back your ex.
3. Stand Up For Yourself. Resist any urges to go begging for you ex to take you back. It's time to be strong. If you see your ex, don't turn into a puddle of tears. Show them you're okay. Be friendly, but let them see that you're doing fine.
3. Go For The "Wow" Factor. It's time to focus on you. If you're out of shape, start an exercise program. If you've had the same look forever, try something new - a new haircut, some stylish clothes you feel great in. If you're bored with your job, think about what the "perfect job" looks like to you, and then create a plan to get it. Don't try to turn into someone you aren't... just work on positive changes that make you feel better about yourself. Your ex is sure to notice.
4. Learn From The Past. Some people swear they don't know what happened... but this usually just means they didn't want to face the truth. If you know what led to the breakup, use it as a learning experience. You don't need to dwell on the past, but you can learn from your mistakes.
5. Take it Slow. It's time to find out if your ex is missing you or not. When you see him or her, it's important that you stand tall and confident. Show them that you are happy, and you're doing just fine. You might even act a little "hard-to-get"... This will usually get their attention. But don't go too far. You don't want them to think you've moved on completely.
These five steps will help you focus on things that are important, instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. In time, you'll know if a reconciliation is in your future... or if it's time to move on. Either way, you'll be able to move forward with your dignity intact.
