May has been married to Peter for 6 years. When May first met Peter, he was an extremely nice guy, who treated May like she is a rare piece of gem. Things continue to go well for both of them during their first 2 years of marriage.

Peter has been a very successful businessman for many years. However, in the third year of their marriage, something happens to his business. Eventually, the situation gets out of control and he went out of business. In fact, he almost had to file for bankruptcy.

After Peter's business wind down, he became very temperamental and of course this affected his relationship with May. In fact, he started abusing May physically and mentally for the next four years. During these four years, May had always wished that Peter will change eventually. Of course, that change never occurred.

Finally, after four years, May decided to leave the relationship. In fact, all her friends encouraged her to do so. And this, of course is a wake up call for Peter.

So he decided to try his best to get May back into the relationship.

So, do you think Peter manage to get back his relationship. Well, the answer is sometimes yes and sometimes no.

What do I mean by that? Before I continue, I have to tell you that this is not a true story. It is a story that I have created just to illustrate one point. There are some relationships that are worse than the story described above. Perhaps, the abuse can go on for more than four years. Yet surprisingly, these couples still get back into the relationship.

So, if you think you are in an impossible situation, think again. Your situation may not be as bad as it seems. Of course, even though there are couples reuniting after an abuse, I am not encouraging you to go back into a relationship that has been plagued by abuse. I am just trying to illustrate that there are effective ways you can use to get your relationship back.

You should also know that sometimes, it is indeed better to let go of a relationship. However, if you really believe in the relationship and want to stop breakup, what you want to do is to agree with the break up. A bit counter intuitive, I know. But you will be surprised at how effective it can be. If fact, you can call it "The Opening Move".
